Self-Portrait of an Architect : The Identical Opposition
The
Identical
Opposition
The project was raised upon the reflection of an architect, in this case, me. I interpreted myself as one ordinary person who enjoys the relaxation of nature and through music. I would say that i have a slow living lifestyle but in contradiction my style of working is totally different from my normal daily routine as I'm quite a serious worker.
I converted my self-portrait into an architecture located along the beach looking toward the city. The pavilion consisted of two buildings looking into opposite sides. One, looking toward the city, is furnished with working desks and working furniture. On the other hand, the other side of the pavilion overlooks the beach. This side of the pavilion is only furnished with a single couch in the middle of the room surrounded with an enhanced sound of the wave outside the pavilion. The humble looking wooden structure has an identical construction to both side of the pavilion to trick the visitors into believing that the two rooms also have an identical function. The different function of the rooms create a surprising factor to the visitors.
