The Antigravity Kite

The 'Antigravity'
The concept depicts our group's common interest in transforming things to be antigravity. Inspirations are derived from natural matter, especially things that one can't grasp; water or things that look ironic when it flies. However, by implementing these conceptual ideas into a 3D kite, the form must be converted into more geometric version to create enough surfaces and rigid frame for fabric to hang on. Therefore, we decided to create an ambiguous form (reflecting things that we can't grasp), composing of the transparent plastic frame, colorful glass paper sewed with holographic fabric and rubber joint to create flexibility in direction of surfaces. When the kite does fly in the sky, we aim the viewers to see only surfaces part ( that looks spread out yet integrated) and the transparent frame to be hidden to strengthen our concept about antigravity and ironic things enable to fly.

Study Model of Kite: Experimentation on Materiality and Weight
Balsa wood frame, Holographic sewed with glass paper, Straw joint, together forming a 3D kite that is lightweight and partially covered with surfaces.

 Final Presentation Board
Collages as the originator of an interest in form and aesthetic representation, then applying those ideas to study models and test out at Bangsaen site before applying all the refinement to the final model.
