AQUAPOOL
self-portrait of an architect
"I am not talkative"
"I am shy"
"I like silence"
.....
When I ask other people about my first impression, most of them
said I look scary since I am not a talkative person. And I do not
like to show my emotion. I would show my real personality later
when I become close to that person.
The initial idea of the project was to make a small aquarium for
people who like silence and want to stay with themselves. Inspiring
from the portrait including my intersted in traveling as you can see
from the balloons around my face portrait which is meant to convey
about flying or floating around freely.
Instead of watching the fish from a small tank, why don’t we watch
Them from where they live?
Why limit them?
Why don’t we give them freedom and we can go and see them from
Where they belong in nature.
Entering the pathway from the shore, there are 2 walkways on the
aquapool. Floating above the water is a path for people walking to
see the view and entering the pool. Another way is going under
water level by going down the stairs in order to see the sea life closely
I also intend to make a fit-gap for exactly 1 person to let people
experience the feeling of be one with the sea plus the people in the
pool would also be able to feel just a tiny gap between real sea and pool
Glass is being used as a main material of the structure in order to let
the light come in and create a beautiful light effect across the water
and there won’t be any close wall.
