The project is to improve whatever in Chulalongkorn University to be better for student lifestyle.
The concept comes from my experience. I chose CU pop bus which is the main transportation within Chula and everyone is familiar with it. The site is CU pop bus terminal station where is the interchange point. Many people walk pass and use the space for waiting for the bus. I considered it as an assembly point; everyone can use the space even though they don’t use the bus. What I observe about user’s behavior in rush hour is people have to stand in a line waiting for the bus BUT no one wants to wait! Then, it should be something more than just a place for waiting.
The ticket system should be work; people come and get the ticket that shows the order and can go sit wherever but still in the queue.
The main idea is about the SEATING that should be multifunctional. The idea of steps seating suits for the need of sitting wherever, it can be seat and table at the same time. The hole between levels allows for all sitting position such as if they want privacy, they can face out or if they come in group (gathering) they can face in. There is some part that bigger and smaller which allows for various ways of use. For example, in a bigger area, people can lie down. The hammock makes it more playful. I have been exploring throughout making physical models. It turned out lots of model version which were developed so far to the final one.
